Milos Jacimovic is a Serbian cinematographer based in New York City, recognized for his evocative visual storytelling across narrative film, creative documentaries, and television commercials. His recent work includes My Late Summer (2024), directed by Academy Award winner Danis Tanović, which premiered as the opening film of the Sarajevo International Film Festival. Variety praised the film’s technical excellence, noting: “The evocative tech credits are aces in every respect, with kudos due to the atmospheric lensing by Serbian DoP Miloš Jaćimović (whose feature career started with the 2010 Sarajevo fest winner Tilva Roš).”

Jacimovic also shot The Uncle (2022), directed by David Kapac and Andrija Mardešić, which received a Proxima Jury Special Award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. His collaboration with Ivan Ikić on Oasis (2020) earned him the Best Cinematography Award from the Serbian Association of Cinematographers. Oasis premiered at the 77th Venice Film Festival, winning the Europa Cinemas Label award, and was Serbia’s official submission for the 2022 Academy Awards. Screen Daily highlighted Jacimovic’s work, stating: “While the script is sparse, the filmmaking fills in the gaps. Expressive cinematography from Milos Jacimovic tightly frames the trio through doorways and windows, lingers long on mundane moments.

His long-standing partnership with Ivan Ikić began with the critically acclaimed Barbarians (2014), which premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and toured more than 30 international festivals. The film was praised by The Guardian, Vice UK, The Hollywood Reporter, and Variety for its raw and unflinching portrayal of disaffected youth in post-Milošević Serbia.

Jacimovic made his feature debut with Tilva Roš (2010), a coming-of-age skateboarding drama directed by Nikola Ležaic. The film premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, won the Grand Prix at Sarajevo, and went on to receive over 15 international awards, including a nomination for the European Film Academy Award.

In addition to his work in independent film, Jacimovic is an experienced commercial cinematographer, collaborating with leading brands on television commercials. Known for bringing cinematic aesthetics to commercial projects, his work balances strong visuals with thoughtful storytelling.

Milos studied cinematography at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, Serbia, and has served as a mentor at the Berlinale Talent Campus in Sarajevo, helping guide young filmmakers in visual storytelling.
